This month’s video selection: Murat Erdemsel & Sigrid van Tilbeurgh. It was a tango exhibition performed at Catania Tango Festival in April, 2018; they are dancing to “Belgica” by Rodolfo Biagi. We in the Twin Cities are familiar with the insightful teaching skills of Murat Erdemsel; he has visited here a few times to lift our tango evolution to a new level. In this video, Murat and Sigrid give musicality a new dimension as they dance to the varying rhythms of Biagi’s music. With dramatic pauses, creative responses to syncopated phrasing, and concise dance movement, these two dancers are a treat to watch over and over.
